It’s official!

With a little over a month to go, we are in the hot and heavy planning stages of PodCamp San Antonio: Numero Dos. First of all let’s talk about the all new venues we have planned this year. Last year we able to showcase a historic part of San Antonio by hosting the event at the beautiful Sunset Station Depot. We continued the PodCamp goodness by mixing it up on the Riverwalk before and after PodCamp.

This year we wanted to offer folks another side to the Alamo City.

**Our pre-event mixer will be held inside the Blue Star Arts Complex during the very wild and popular First Friday. Stroll around and visit the various art galleries on both sides of the Arts Complex or venture down the road a bit to the Art Silos.

Our hosts for the pre-event mixer will be none other than the fine folks at Red Gizmo. We’ll be able to relax and watch the merriment on the patio enjoying a nice cold beverage or two from the Blue Star Brewery. Yep, you heard it here. We’re bringing a keg of Blue Star Brewery’s finest Pale Ale for your enjoyment. While First Friday is open to anyone, the Pre-Event Mixer fun is strictly for the Podcampers. **UPDATE** PodCamp San Antonio is not having an official pre-event gathering. However, First Friday is an event which is open to the public and happens every month in San Antonio feel free to stop in for an unofficial good time.

But don’t stay up too late, because the PodCamp fun starts bright and early on Saturday morning. Our venue for PodCamp San Antonio: Numero Dos is none other than the El Tropicano Hotel.

Step back in time to 1960’s Acapulco when you walk through the doors of this newly remodeled slice of San Antonio’s not so distant past. The main sessions will be held in La Habana which backs up to the hotel’s aviary. View the tropical birds and their iguana companions during the PodCamp sessions.

There is plenty of room for breakout sessions. Saddle up to the coffee bar, hang out in the lobby or step out onto the deck to view the newest in-progress expansion phase of the Riverwalk. Of course if water is what you’re looking for then the 2nd floor pool may be more to your liking.

When all is said and done, we’ll be heading to the Riverwalk to take in the night life, pat ourselves on the back and enjoy a cold beverage.

For folks who can’t get enough of the PodCamp San Antonio goodness, we will meet Sunday morning 10:00am at Cafe Latino our favorite post-podcamp brunch spot. Wake up slowly on the large patio or chill in the hookah tents. Either way it’s a great spot for coffee and conversation.
