Objective sheets have been handed out to all band students.  The objective sheets are the bulk of the students grade.  The objective sheets are not due until the last day of the nine weeks, but many student wait until the last moment to accomplish objectives.  If a student fails to turn in an objective sheet the student will fail this grading period.  Notice that I have included a signature spot for February 9th.

Remember your daily grade consists of having your music, pencil and instrument each day in class, and taking your instrument home each day.  Your test grade average consists of the above listed objectives.

Our band program will be showcasing the Beginning Band and Symphonic Band on Wednesday December 13th. In the school auditorium.

Our symphonic band will be performing a winter concert at Brackenridge High School on Thursday, December 7th.

Three of our band students will be competing at the Region 12 TMEA Honor Band Auditions on Saturday   November 18th. The audition will be held at Barbara Bush Middle School and the students will compete with other students from around the city.  Congratulations and good luck to Alysha Jaramillo, Jose Ramirez and Joseph Rios.

Page Symphonic Band members will be auditioning for the S.A.I.S.D. Honor Band on Saturday, November 4th.  The auditions will be held at Irving Middle School, and will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.  Student who make the band will recieve a patch and will participate in a band clinic and concert on a later date.  It has many years since anyone from Page Middle School has achieved this honor.  Our goal this year is to have at least ten students make the band.  Good Luck Ponies!

The Friends of Fine Arts meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 6th.  All band parents are welcome to attend.  The Friends of Fine Arts Organization was organized to help support and raise money for our children.

It is mandatory that everyone show up to sectionals on your day.  Sectionals are only once a week for 45 minutes.  If a conflict arises I need to know 24 hours in advance.  In order for our program to be successful I need everyones’ cooperation.  The schedule is as follows:

Monday:  Trombone/Baritone/Tuba

Tuesday:All Saxes

Wednesday: Clarinet/Flute

Thursday: Trumpet/French Horn

Friday:Percussion

This schedule will occur every week unless told otherwise.
